Conflict Check & Scope of Engagement
We complete a conflict check, review the nature of the matter, applicable deadlines and venue, and coordinate with retaining counsel to define the technical issues and scope of engineering services.
Step 2
Investigation & Engineering Analysis
Available evidence and case materials are reviewed and, when appropriate, a site inspection or additional investigation is performed. Engineering analysis, calculations, codes, standards, technical literature, and other relevant information are considered as necessary to evaluate the issues presented.
Step 3
Expert Opinions, Reports & Exhibits
Engineering opinions and their technical bases are developed from the available evidence and analysis. When required by the engagement, findings are documented through expert reports, calculations, photographs, technical exhibits, demonstratives, or other supporting materials.
Step 4
Deposition, Hearing & Trial Testimony
We coordinate with counsel in preparation for deposition and provide expert testimony when required at depositions, evidentiary hearings, arbitration proceedings, and trial. Technical support may also be provided during mediation, settlement discussions, and other stages of the dispute.

Can you review and evaluate another expert’s report?
Yes. Rebuttal and opposing-expert review are common components of our litigation support services. We evaluate the technical methodology, assumptions, calculations, code and standard references, supporting documentation, and whether the opinions and conclusions are adequately supported by the available evidence and engineering analysis.
Do you serve as a consulting expert before expert disclosure?
Yes. Depending on the needs of retaining counsel, an engagement may begin in a consulting capacity to evaluate technical issues, available evidence, potential causation, and other engineering considerations before a testifying expert is designated. If appropriate, the scope of the engagement may later be expanded to include expert reports, deposition, arbitration, or trial testimony.
